What’s Your 2010 ThemeWord?

Have you chosen your 2010 ThemeWord?
Last night, my friend Erica O’Grady and I had a wonderful long phone conversation about life, goals, the past year, what lies ahead, what we want to improve, and our ThemeWords for 2009 and 2010. Like Erica, I’ve been picking ThemeWords since 2008, and it’s been fun seeing this idea from LifeCamp2007 inspire so many people!
In 2009, I began with the ThemeWord FLOURISH. Throughout the year, I met amazing people, completed important projects, and grew tremendously, but it was also the toughest year to date in every aspect of my life. While I kept my sights on flourishing, a more appropriate ThemeWord might have been SURVIVE because, miraculously, I did.
Like so many other people, I am excited and relieved to see a glimmer of hope for the new year. My 2010 ThemeWord is TRANSFORM. In these last few days of 2009, I am preparing by tying up loose ends, setting goals, decluttering my computer, seeking advice, and exploring new tools.
How about YOU?
- What are your goals? Your ThemeWord?
- How will you check in, stay on track, and measure progress?
- What strategies and methods do you use to get things done? How have you developed – and stayed with – a system of follow through that you trust?
- What tools do you use to manage information overload, keep resources organized (especially links and digital files!), follow through, connect with people, and interact more efficiently with your world?
- Are you still searching for tools and techniques? What has – or hasn’t – worked for you and why?
I can’t wait to hear your ideas and suggestions!

I love TRANSFORM. I think last year was the hardest year ever for a lot of people. One of the things I learned was that no matter how bad things get – I’m terribly blessed. I have incredible friends, amazing clients, and a life full of freedom, adventure, and excitement.
Here’s to making 2010 the best year YET!

Erica,
It helps to know we’re not alone, even when everything seems to be falling apart. Thanks for the great tips on tools for streamlining and organizing digital content and communications. Looking forward to our weekly check ins!
Here’s to a joyful, healthy, peaceful, and prosperous 2010 for all!

Ruth,
I look forward to seeing your transformation! Has some mystic super-power connotations and I truely believe that you will come out victorious!!!
The mere numbers of the year 2-0-1-0 show us that it will be almost magical. I have also got some great aspirations for the new year and can hardly wait to get at it. I think, however, that a less spectacular word is in order for me. D-e-d-i-c-a-t-i-o-n.
Yeah. I pledge to “stick-to-it” and will make every attempt to stay focussed in 2010. I have a steep goal for year’s end with some mini-goals along the way.
Blessings to you and Erica, ladies, thanks for the inspiration and wishing you the best for 2010!

Andy,
Thank you! I love your interpretation of transformation and the magical numbers of the new year!
I think you’ve chosen a fantastic word in DEDICATION. I would love any insights you may have on ways to keep going or tools that help you along the way. Following through, focusing, and sticking-to-it are definitely key to tackling any goal and certainly part of my transformation. There are so many millions of ways to juggle everything and I’m hoping to find some new approaches in the coming year!
